Wise Woman of the month
This month the UEFA women’s world cup final will be held in Switzerland and we thought we would take this opportunity to name another woman athlete as our Wise Woman of the Month.

Joan Chelimo was born in Kenya and a is successful long-distance runner. As a survivor of violence against women Joan co-founded Tirop's Angels. this union of athlete's that campaigns to raise awareness of violence against women and provides direct support to women who are experiencing violence and abuse. Tirop's Angels also provides education in schools.
Named after Agnes Tirop, a world record runner who was murdered by her ex husband, Joan and Tirop's Angels are an inspiring example of survivors using their experience to protect our girls and young women, whilst responding to those who are experiencing violence and abuse at the moment.

Joan we stand beside you in solidarity.

Wise Women are honoured to have had a song written for us, for our 30th Anniversary, by the wonderful Esther Sparks.
This song, "Her Voice", encapsulates the aim of Wise Women beautifully, emphasising the connections between women and their experiences.
