Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance (TARA)

In 2004 the Community Safety Partnership in Glasgow established TARA, a support service for trafficking survivors, to help identify and support women who may have been trafficked for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.

It is TARA's belief that trafficking is fuelled by the demand from the commercial sex industry and that commercial sexual exploitation is a form

of violence against women that is harmful to women, families and communities.

Wise Women has a long-standing partnership relationship with the Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance (TARA), which was established in 2004 to provide support to women who may have beed trafficked and exploited. TARA works with women to provide trauma informed, practical, and emotional support to recover from their experiences. This partnership has included consulting with women who have been trafficked to Scotland.
