Wise Woman of the month

September was Child Sexual Abuse Awareness month and was celebrated for many years in Glasgow with a variety of events, exhibitions and artwork.

One of the most significant contributors to Scotland's understanding of the impact of child sexual abuse was Dr Sarah Nelson.

Sarah was the author of "Incest: Fact and Myth" and "Tackling Child Sexual Abuse; Radical approaches to prevention, protection and support" and tireless campaigner for children and adult survivors rights.

Sarah's contribution cannot be underestimated. She influenced practice policy and legislation.

Sadly Sarah passed away 29th March 2025, but her impact will continue for decades to come.

Forever in our hearts, Sarah Nelson.
