Violence against Black and Minority Ethnic Women

Research from Imkaan and the Centre for Women's Justice has found numerous systemic failures that contributed to minority women continuing to experience domestic violence, and even femicide. These were;

  • High levels of police racism deterring reporting.

  • Immigration concerns.

  • Stereotyping and assumptions affecting perceptions of workers.

  • Criminalisation of victims by counter allegations
