Every so often someone produces something that highlights all the challenges of violence against women, including institutional. Attitudes towards women that prevent justice and fail to remove the dangers to women from our streets.

Hindsight is also a tool we can use to analyse what went wrong and what we can learn.

One such production was the podcast Bible John: Creation of a Serial Killer, by Audrey Gillian. 

This fascinating insight into the crimes and the police response to them, as well as centring the women at the heart of the story, was not only informative and refreshing, but also asked the questions that requires vital answers and highlighted how some of these attitudes and approaches continue to cause challenges accessing justice for women.

Our woman for the month of October is Audrey Gillan, a challenging, but compassionate voice in a world that is still too often dangerous for women.
